בעקבות רובע הסחר בנשים בקזבלנקה הקולוניאלית
בוסביר היה רובע סגור, ראשון מסוגו בעולם, שהוקם בקזבלנקה בשנות העשרים של המאה העשרים, בראשית השלטון הצרפתי במרוקו כמדינת חסות (1912-1956), לצורך אספקת שירותי מין לאלפי חיילים, מקומיים ותיירים מרחבי העולם. הרובע פעל באווירה אוריינטליסטית ״אקזוטית", והיה בפיקוח משטרתי ורפואי דרקוני. רובע בוסביר מיסד את פרויקט תיירות המין, שהיה מושתת על כליאה ושיעבוד של אלפי נערות ונשים מוסלמיות, יהודיות ונוצריות, ועד מהרה היה יעד לתיירות מין הגדול מסוגו בעולם. רבעים דומים הוקמו בהשראתו ברחבי הקולוניות. במחצית שנות החמישים, עם נפילת
המשטר הקולוניאליסטי הצרפתי במרוקו, נסגר הרובע בבושת פנים

In pursuit of the women’s trafficking district in colonial Casablanca
Bousbir was a walled-off district—the first of its kind in the world—established in Casablanca in the 1920s, during the early years of French rule in Morocco as a protectorate (1912- 1956). It was created to provide sexual services to thousands of soldiers, locals, and tourists from across the globe. The district operated within a deliberately staged Orientalist fantasy, under harsh police and medical control.
Reuven Zahavi is an Israeli-French artist, researcher, and lecturer based in Jerusalem and Paris. His practice explores colonial memory, material culture, and the enchanted body. His works have been exhibited internationally in major museums and independent spaces alike.
